Chef Jamie Santoro

Welcome to "THAT ITALIAN PLACE", a location I have called home for over 5 years. I am Jamie Santoro, executive chef At That Italian Place. I was raised in New York, where I was exposed to my families home-style New York Italian food. I began cooking alongside my Mom, (Mary Ann) at a very early age for family dinner’s, parties and holiday celebrations. I watched and helped with all the food task and learned all the aspects of cooking, like making marinara sauce.

As an adult with a natural passion for food and entertaining, I have a strong ability to cross old world Italian cuisine, with new culinary innovations. I love sharing new discoveries that can be found in my weekly specials and chef's tasting menu.

After my undergraduate studies at Long Island University in New York, I went on to enhance my education by studying cooking at the famed Le Cordon bleu Program at Scottsdale Culinary Institute. With a passion for food and life long learning, I'm currently advancing my education by branching into hotel management studies.

I have worked throughout the valley for various catering companies and corporations, and beside my Mom when this was Richie and Mary Ann's. I now bring my passion as head chef to the heart of Ahwatukee at That Italian Place. I love to cook and create and love to visit every night with all of our regulars and meet new guests as I visit table to table.

Every day I prepare dishes from my families traditional New York Italian recipes for our valued customers at "THAT ITALIAN PLACE".
